Which Membership Level is Right for You?
Membership in AZADV is open to any person who volunteers at any zoo or aquarium in the world. It is also possible for a zoo or aquarium to have an organization membership. An organization affiliate membership is available for any organization that has a similar/compatible objective as AZADV. If you join, you will soon see that the dedication you have for your zoo or aquarium is universal.
Benefits of membership include AZADV's quarterly newsletter; access to AZADV's private Facebook group; reciprocal admission program; annual conference; and leadership opportunities. |
Symbiosis, the association's quarterly newsletter, is exclusive to members. The newsletter features educational articles submitted by industry professionals and AZADV members, news, and information about upcoming events. Members are encouraged to submit content for the newsletter.
Join the conversation with more than 850 members from zoos and aquariums around the world. Our private Facebook group is a great way for members to share their knowledge and experiences with each other.
There are many benefits to attending the annual AZADV conference. Our conference speakers are industry leaders with years of experience in zoo and aquarium advocacy and conservation. Any AZADV member can share their knowledge by leading a presentation. The conference provides many events and activities, including “Zoo Day,” which gives members behind-the-scenes access to wild animals and marine life.
As an individual member, you can serve as your organization’s delegate, join a committee, or submit an application to become a member of the executive board (associate members cannot serve as a delegate at the annual meeting.)
AZADV members receive reciprocal zoo admission (50% or 100%) upon proof of membership at participating zoos and aquariums across the country.
Three AZADV members are randomly selected each quarter to receive a one year free membership to AZADV. Winners are announced in the Symbiosis newsletter. Members must have at least three consecutive years of membership to be eligible for the membership drawing.
The AZADV Educational Grant fund provides monies for the development of unique, innovative educational programs and/or activities by organizational members of AZADV by providing multiple smaller grants, up to a full $6,000 grant
Each organizational member is eligible to send one delegate to participate in the annual meeting. This is a great way to have an active voice in shaping the future of our organization.
Hosting an AZADV conference provides an opportunity to showcase your zoo or aquarium to an influential group of volunteers from around the world. This is a great opportunity to feature your programs, build a valuable network of colleagues, and develop new skills. You will strengthen and create relationships with local organizations, opening the way for future partnerships.
